Graduate Lecture notes

From Statistical Mechanics: Algorithms and Computations

Jump to: navigation, search

In my lectures at the Les Houches Summer School 2008, I discussed central concepts of computational statistical physics, which I felt would be accessible to the very cross-cultural audience at the school.

I initially planned to put these lectures (which are readily avaiable in pdf and postscript formats) onto this wiki, and to link directly to the many programs which are available in the Python section on this SMAC-wiki. However, I have not yet come around to performing this task. Help would be greatly appreciated.

However, a lot of material is now available on two other wikis:

  1. On this page is information (written in English) on lectures (CM), rehearsal sessions (TD), and homework (DM) of courses that I gave in 2009, at ENS Paris, and at the University Paris VI.
  2. This page contains a host of material (in German) of a Summerschool of the German National Merit Scholarship (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) in Salem, Germany.
